As I watch the clouds circling high above the semi-arid desert city of Kamloops, the wind whips against my face and I realize I forgot to water my lawn yesterday.
Although the wind is fairly quiet, the cloth of patriotism hanging from our deck produces the ocassional snap and flutter to awakening me from my daze. It's now Thursday, and it's been quite some time since I've taken a moment to write anything on my blog.
I suppose the birth of my third daughter 3 weeks ago is a good excuse in and of itself, however, that's really not the primary reason for the clutter filling my schedule lately. Since SilverServers hired on a new programmer, work has been a little more disjointed than usual due to training, but the real reason for my absence is due to my unexpected live music debut coming up on July 23rd.
A number of weeks ago, I was invited to join artists such as Peter Soberlak, The Muddcats, and Paul Filek on The River's mainstage for their annual Family Fun Festival. This, of course, meant I needed to find some other musicians to help me out. I was fortunate to find Jonathan Anthony for Bass and Dan Hum for drums, and now we've been practicing the songs off of my CD "Free" as well as a number of songs I've been working on for my next CD.
So it's been rather hectic as of late, leaving me with little energy to devote to thoughtful blog topics. I do expect that once July 23rd has come and gone, I should be able to get back up to speed. We'll see.
For now, I'll sign off as
Mickael Maddison,
Missing In Action.
